President-elect Trump is planning an unprecedented number of executive orders for Day One of the new administration – over 100, dealing with border security, deportations, energy development, school gender policies, vaccine mandates and other policy priorities.  The scope and sheer number of executive orders are said by some Capitol Hill observers as a Constitutional challenge, bypassing the Congressional legislative process.  https://apnews.com/article/trump-day-one-border-executive-actions-30f78c3c983ae74555f281446fe22710

Ad revenue is key to Facebook and Instagram parent company, Meta.  It accounts for about 98% of Meta’s nearly $40.6b total revenue.  It’s 21% share of the total digital ad revenue in the U.S. is second only to Google.  Some marketers are saying Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s pivot to end professional fact-checking in favor of crowdsourced community note to curry favor with the incoming Trump administration could cause them to limit ad spending on Meta’s social platforms if it results in the unchecked spread of fake news, harmful content and hate speech.  It may come down to how much a company values Meta’s unmatched return on investment for brands that advertise there versus their desired level of risk aversion. www.morningbrew.com
